Downtown Chattanooga is full of exciting places to visit with friends, meet new people, and get so blisteringly drunk that you forget their names the next morning. Here are a few of our favorites.
- Lamar’s – 1018 East M.L. King Boulevard – strongest drinks in town, an enchanted jukebox and a surreal atmosphere
- Chattanooga Billiards Club – 725 Cherry Street – Lots of pool, classy wood panels, strong drinks and a good mixed crowd
- The Honest Pint – 35 Patten Parkway – A grand saloon, friendly service, Irish music, darts and pool
- The Terminal Brewhouse – 6 East 14th Street – A converted hotel with beer-brewing facilities, great food, quick service and a unique ambiance
- Cancun Mexican Restaurant – 1809 Broad Street – A classic Mexican joint with great margaritas (not too sweet), delicious and fast food, outdoor dining and competitive prices
- Pickle Barrel – 1012 Market Street – A festive location frequented by hippies and young professionals with one of the best Reuben sandwiches in town
- McHale’s Brewhouse – 724 Ashland Terrace – A brewery within a bar within a restaurant with a Scots-Irish feel, and one of the widest selections of beer anywhere in town
